Temporary Admin support - Biscuit, Cake, Chocolate and Confectionery (BCCC)

About the Role
To play a key role in supporting the work of the BCCC Sector Group in particular
with regard to technical and regulatory issues including food safety.
Assist the BCCC Sector manager in the development of position papers and in the
gathering of data in support of FDF/BCCC policies.
Develop and maintain the FDF database to facilitate account management and
improve communications with members.
Essential Requirements
- Graduate or relevant qualifications / experience
- Interest in food policy and EU legislation
- Working level knowledge of food issues
- Responsible self-starter
- Good communicator and team player
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Willingness to learn & take responsibility for projects
- Experience of Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Knowledge of EU institutions, policy making and lobbying strategy an advantage.
Specific Duties
Interpret, summarise and disseminate technical documents on food issues from UK
and EU governments and institutions
Provide secretariat support to the BCCC Sector Manager, to the BCCC T&R
Committee, to the Cocoa Residues and Contaminants Committee and to any
sub-committee
established on an ad hoc basis. Assisting with the organization of meetings,
record taking and follow-up actions as necessary.
Dispatch written communications in a timely and accurate manner.
Liaise with FDF horizontal committees, government departments, CAOBISCO and
other stakeholders in the interest of the sector and to ensure that BCCC Sector
members are aware of relevant discussions within FDF and take part in
developing
positions.
Organise meetings and telephone conferences with members of BCCC sector,
CAOBISCO and external stakeholders, as required and ensure that notes of
meetings are
circulated timely for information and comment.
Take responsibility for the organization of the BCCC Annual Technology
Conference and act as secretary to the Conference Organising Committee in the
future.
Maintain accurate and up to date records of FDF members' details and interests.
To be aware of the issues that may affect members and to develop the database
to
facilitate communications and account management.
To work with the BCCC Sector Manager, the BCCC Trade Policy Executive, FDF
members, FDF colleagues and consultants, CAOBISCO, government and Commission
officials and other stakeholders, as work requires.
