Investment the basis of ambitious growth programme
2011 has been an exciting year so far for Border Biscuits, with investment in the capacity and capability of its plant, an extensive redesign of its packaging and website, and the launch of its first advertising campaign on STV. The company has also expanded its portfolio with the launch of its award winning, new Gourmet Goodness range.
The new Gourmet Goodness range spans six
varieties and blends wholesome ingredients such
as fruit, seeds and nuts within an indulgent biscuit.

advertising campaign and

- A further £2.5m investment is
planned to further increase their
manufacturing capabilities.
Following a £2 million investment on a new production line, family run business
Border Biscuits has expanded its portfolio with the launch of an innovative new
range - Gourmet Goodness. The range was three years in development.
The Gourmet Goodness range includes fruit, seeds and
nuts, combined with slow baked oats. Six varieties include
Pecan & Maple Syrup Granola Cookies, Blackberry &
Apple Crumbles, Tropical Fruit Crumbles, Red Berry
Rascals, Yogurt Cranberry & Pumpkin Seed Crumbles, and
Raspberry White Chocolate & Pistachio Crumbles.
Ewan Anderson, Sales Director, Border Biscuits, said:
“There is a real opportunity in the premium biscuit category
and we're looking to expand the business throughout the
UK and abroad by continuing to produce the best quality
biscuits that we can possibly bake.”
This new range was made possible by a £2 million
investment in a new production line This investment allowed them to further
expand their
product range, by giving them the capacity to drizzle
coatings onto their biscuits.
But it doesn't stop there for Border
Biscuits, which is based in Lanark.
The company plan to grow the
business by 50 per cent in the
next 18 months supported by a
further £2.5 million investment in
manufacturing capabilities and
plant capacity. Currently Border
Biscuits employs 120 people and
has a turnover of £9 million.
