Food & Drink Manufacturing Industry – Environmental Management Toolkit

Following a joint working initiative with FDF and other industry trade associations, the Environment Agency has recently launched an environmental management toolkit aimed at helping food and drink manufacturers – both regulated businesses and those SMEs below permitting thresholds - improve environmental performance and deliver real bottom line benefits.

Comprising a pack of simple templates, along with embedded guidance and checklists, the toolkit is not an environmental management system in itself. However, by simplifying the complexity of such systems and making them easily accessible, the toolkit aims to offer practical help to all companies, especially SMEs, that are developing or renewing their environmental management system procedures.

The first version of the toolkit was launched in January 2010. Comments and feedback on this version are invited so that it can be improved further in the future.
