There are many ways in which you can get the most out of your membership.
Speaking on Your Behalf
We work with our members to ensure their views are represented at the highest
levels within Government, the European Commission, Westminster and the European
Parliament. We also work closely with regulators to ensure that your concerns
are fully understood, whatever the issue. By being the first point of call for
policy makers we are well placed to influence the regulatory and legislative
process. We also deal with the media to ensure that the industry's position is
known on the hot topics of the day.

Helping You in a Crisis
We are actively involved in emergency planning issues and that means when things
go wrong we are best placed to help members understand the issues and how they
may impact their businesses. Take the GM contamination of US long grain rice
with non-authorised LLRICE601 in 2006. We worked closely with the Food Standards
Agency, and our food chain partners in the UK and the rest of Europe, to ensure
a pragmatic and proportionate response. We kept our members fully informed of
all business-critical developments through rapid and regular email updates.

Saving You Money
Did you know that companies participating in our Climate Change Agreement
receive an 80% discount on their Climate Change Levy? That's a saving worth £43m a
year in total to participants. Just one of the ways in which we can save you
money.

Keeping You Informed
Through the members-only section of our website, we provide a wide range of
information vital for those working in the food
and drink industry. We send out
200,000 individual emails each year covering
everything from food processing
issues to trade matters to industrial affairs.
It's easy to access this
information – just ask when you join! Our technical
experts also provide members with
regular, highly detailed updates on the
latest
developments in key areas such as
new legislation or issue advice on
important
topics such as the use of food
ingredients. Membership of our various
committees
also ensures that you stay
informed.

Helping You Build New Networks
The seminars, briefings and workshops that we organise throughout the year are
a great way for our members to network with their peers from across the
industry as well as share ideas and best practices. We also facilitate events that
allow our members to have a close dialogue with senior retailers and other
important stakeholders. Another tangible benefit of membership.
