SFDF Symposium
Established in 2003, the annual Symposium is run jointly by three of
Scotland's
most respected industry organisations – the Scottish Food and Drink Federation
(SFDF), the Institute of Food Science & Technology (IFST) and the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) – and has established itself as a 'not to be missed' event in the industry
calendar.
Each year, the subject matter guarantees to be topical, informative and thought
provoking. Topics in the past have varied from food hygiene and safety, food
labelling, the complexities of the food chain, nutrition and health claims,
healthy
products and healthy profit, to feeding a global population and the issues
facing the industry.
High calibre speakers have included representatives from all parts of the food
and drink industry, government and its agencies, retailers, universities,
research institutes and the enforcement community.
Open to all related to, or interested in, the food and drink sector, the
Symposium is run as an all day event with insightful presentations, industry
case
studies and a chance to participate in ground breaking debates and open
discussion
sessions. We also try to involve the future of our industry by welcoming
students
from all over the UK and beyond.
