PRESS RELEASE

Responding to the release of Defra's Water White Paper - 'Water for Life', FDF's Director of Sustainability & Competitiveness, Andrew Kuyk said:

“The publication today of the Government's long awaited Water White Paper confirms the fundamental importance of this vital resource, for people's daily lives, for the environment we inhabit and for present and future economic prosperity."

“FDF has spent the last few months producing its own new 'Every Last Drop' guidance on the more efficient use of water in the food supply chain, which we launched yesterday to mark the start of a campaign leading up to World Water day in March next year. Our aim is not just to improve operational performance, but also to raise awareness and generate savings along the entire chain, including as individuals at home."

“We therefore welcome the actions which Government is proposing to take to strengthen the resilience of supplies and deal with a number of legacy issues, particularly in the context of the potential impacts of climate change.”
